Our Work
Welcome to Made Believe Creations! Established in 2022, this is our first year of operations, but our love for arts and crafts goes back decades. We started fulfilling the demand of the infamous Belgian Malinois rearview mirror hanging dog, these #unrealdogs made a great impact in our community. We welcome you to come and share in this love with us through one of our handcrafted creations or maybe through a fully personalized custom creation!
Below you will find some information outlining the materials and techniques that we use to bring all of our custom creations to life.

Materials
We use Natural wool in most of our products. Acrylic fibers are used on certain animals which require long, shiny hair, specifically on their faces. When acrylic fibers are used, it is specified in the item description.

Material Armature
Our products start at the armature frame. This is a piece of wire that allows us to generate the shape that our creation will take. The thickness of the armature depends on the size. The bigger the design, the thicker the wire, except when our creation is ordered as a plush.

The Armature
Once our base is formed, we progress to our next phase, adding our wool. In most of our products, you will find natural wool. Depending on the custom creation, some will contain acrylic fibers or even animal fur as well. These materials are utilized on our creations that contain long, shiny hair or to add that realistic look. If these materials are used, it is specifically called out under our product descriptions.

The Art of Felting
Now that we have our frame and materials, it is time to put it all together. We do this through a technique known as needle felting. What is needle felting, you ask? Needle felting is a long and dedicated process of adding layers of wool to sculpt the desired figure using a felting needle. During this process, we are able to condense our materials together by pressing them, allowing us to create that customized look with individualized colors or blends!
